Think about the technology we are exposed to on a daily basis- Nearly everything we use or do is influenced, created or modified by technological means. Advances in technology are even beginning to blur the lines between itself and reality in certain areas. Technology is changing the way information and ideas are created, communicated, and evaluated.

This class is designed to prepare your student for the next level which will allow students to leave school as a solidly employable individual, able to deal with the technological necessities of everyday life in this time.

REAL WORLD WORK:

This tech class doesn't simply sit behind a computer- we do real world work. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment in the classroom, and a positive impact outside of the classroom.

One example:

• The Canopy Project - A project in conjunction with the Dept. of Forestry and the City of Vallejo to plant dozens of trees. Students were tasked with using online tools to evaluate climate zones & appropriate trees for our specific zone. After this, students took satellite images and used digital tools to plot out the best planting sites for the seedlings.

GOALS:

• To fully understand and respond to the educational needs of each and every student which comes into my class.
• To assist each student to fully learn all of the digital tools which they will need immediately and often as they grow.
• To educate each student on how to behave ethically and responsibly online, and in the work environment.
