Technology Rules & Procedures **First and foremost- All of the basic school rules are upheld in my classroom, including ID, dress code, electronics, gum, food and phone policies. Class Attendance : Be on time, every time. Attendance will be taken within 5 minutes of the start of class. No exceptions. Attendance is mandatory. Part of your grade IS based on your class attendance and behavior. You may not leave the classroom at any time for any reason without permission.
Bathroom Breaks: There will be NO bathroom breaks during my class. If I don't get to go, you don't get to go. Don't forget to handle your business in between classes. Students with special situations such as diabetes, etc. are exempted from this rule. Must have documentation on hand.
Classroom Behavior: This is a big deal. Demonstrating the ability to consistently behave correctly in my classroom tells me you are ready for privileges. My classroom behavior rules are as follows:
Assignments & Homework : Assignments are due on the date I tell you in class when the assignment is given. NOTICE: For an assignment to be considered 'turned in' it must be complete and delivered to the proper location as instructed. For example- electronic assignments must be dropped into the proper folder on the network as instructed. If it's a hard-copy (meaning: on paper) assignment then it must be dropped into the 'Inbox' on my desk. No Exceptions. Because this is a technology course, most assignments will be done at school during class time. I rarely give homework throuhout the year unless we are under a time constraint, but it does occasionally occur. Remember- while it's nice not having so much homework each day, students must learn to manage their class time effectively so they can ensure they will turn assignments in when they are due..
Beginning of class: Prior to class start, all students will line up along the railing outside the room. Students will not be permitted entry until everyone is quiet and orderly. Teacher will then direct students into the classroom. Quiet: Much like a library, the computer lab should be quiet except during Teacher Instruction or when granted 'quiet talk' time to collaborate. Food: Food, Drinks (such as Soda, Gatorade, etc.) and Gum are NOT allowed at any time. Water is ok if in backpack. Storage: Any sporting equipment which doesn't fit into your pack will be brought to my desk until class is over. Personal Electronics : Phones are to be off and in backpack. Other electronic devices (such as i-pods or PSPs) are prohibited. If they are out or if they disrupt class they will be taken & given to the Main office. If this does occur, your parents will have to personally come to the school and retrieve them for you from the main office. |
